This workshop is designed to help employees improve their public speaking skills in a supportive and non-threatening environment. As a result of this workshop, students will learn HOW TO: deal with nervousness about speaking in public; improve their presentations skills; prepare the best introduction for their audiences; fine tune their messages; deal with difficult questions; and develop a positive outlook for their next public speaking opportunities. This is an interactive workshop.

Editing and Proofreading
1-day course

If you’ve been designated the office editor responsible for the quality of staff’s written work—or if you would just like to know how to better edit your own documents—then this workshop is for you. You will learn what an editor’s principal tasks are—and what they are not—how to embark on an efficient editing process; when to mark-up a document and when not to; what editing marks to use on hard copy and on-screen; whether, when, and how to query the author; and how to distinguish between editing and proofreading. In addition, you will receive hands-on practice, applying editing techniques to business documents and developing an error log and style sheet. Come prepared to roll up your sleeves as we learn practical skills that will enhance clarity, ensure consistency and coherence, and create error-free, professional documents.
