Introduction

These Interpreter Test Preparation Materials have been designed to help you prepare for the
California Judicial Council Court Interpreter written and oral examinations.
These preparation materials will assist you in understanding the general process of taking
an examination and will provide you with sample written and oral tests for the Court Interpreter
certification. These sample tests will include all introductory information, as well as directions
on how to respond to each test and test component.

These preparation materials are divided into eight sections that will give you information on the
important aspects of these examinations. These sections are:

Note: The words test, exam, and examination are considered
to be synonymous throughout these preparation materials, as are the words questions and items.
The term proctor refers to the person giving the test.
