CPS offers a full array of employment testing and assessment services to meet your agency’s needs. Using state of the art best practices, CPS strives to combine innovation and recognized legal and professional practices in designing and developing a variety of selection instruments. With our expertise, we specialize in test development, validation, and pass point setting activities.
Our services and products are offered through our Test Rental Program and our Assessment Services division and are divided into two types: those products available off-the-shelf for your choosing to meet your needs and those custom developed specifically for your agency.
CPS’ off-the-shelf, validated written examinations, structured interviews and other assessment tools are standardized employment selection products for specific job classifications or job categories common to most public agencies. The majority of these products are deliverable in both computerized and traditional paper-and-pencil formats. Our off-the-shelf products are grouped into six occupational categories:
- Law enforcement and Fire service
- Office, clerical, and customer service
- Professional and paraprofessional
- Service and maintenance
- Skilled trades

CPS’ customized, validated written examinations, structured interviews, performance tests, work sample exercises, and measures of training and experience (T&Es) are employment selection products developed specifically for use in the your agency based upon agency-specific job analysis data and input from your agency’s subject matter experts to meet your agency’s short-term and long-term selection needs. Our services include a content validation strategy with documented evidence of your instrument’s job-relatedness, validity, and adherence to pertinent legal requirements. These custom instruments and services can be combined with other CPS services, such as recruitment and test administration, to provide your agency with a scalable service offering to best meet your selection needs.
